Babassu + Murumuru Leave-In Conditioning Crème

Our Babassu + Murumuru Leave-In Conditioning Crème formulation is beginner-friendly and perfect for dry curly, and coily hair. Featuring our Divine CAC-20 for added stability and Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine as an effective conditioning agent, this rich cream provides hydration and moisturization to the hair without excess residue or buildup. The finished product will be a viscous, luxurious cream suitable for a pump bottle.

B 5%  Cetearyl Alcohol 30:70 NF
B 3% Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine
B 3% Divine CAC-20 (INCI: Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-20)
B 3% Babassu Oil
B 2% Murumuru Butter
B 2% Isopropyl Myristate
B 2% LexFeel N5 MB (INCI: Diheptyl Succinate (and) Capryloyl Glycerin/Sebacic Acid Copolymer)
C 1% Euxyl PE 9010 (INCI: Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin)
C .6% Fragrance Oil
C .5% Mixed Tocopherol 95%
D qs Lactic Acid 90% 

 

Method:

 1. Combine phase A ingredients and adjust pH to around 3-4 with lactic acid. Citric acid can be used, but lactic acid is highly recommended. Heat to 75°C.
2. Combine phase B ingredients and heat to 75°C.
3. Add heated phase B to heated phase A and mix under low shear until a glossy, homogeneous emulsion forms. Continue stirring until the product cools to below 40°C.
4. Add phase C and mix thoroughly until homogenous. 
5. At 25°C, check/adjust pH.
